Sowing Circle Family Coven

Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: Portland, Oregon
Key Contact: Argante Silvermantle

Spiritual Path: Weaver Witchcraft / eclectic
Status: Group Forming
Community Support: Open Circles... Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: Pagan families with children have extra challenges. With school drop offs and pick ups, parent committee fundraisers, playdates, doctor appointments, clothes shopping - again - (how do they keep growing???) ; finding the time and energy to develop and implement your family's our unique spiritual practice can seem impossible! But when it happens… a Esbat where the two sisters twirl in the moonlight, the sound of a child's voice raised in song praising the Goddess, the toddler's body radiating pride and power as he raises his toy sword high in the center of the circle…. these times are just… magic.

We are a small family coven looking to embrace and befriend other pagan families in the Portland metro area. After trials, triumphs and an 800 mile relocation we have settled in this brilliant and lovely land and wish to share the magic of this place with others. Our Tradition is mainly Celtic and Norse flavored Wicca, and we offer open circles on the Sabbats, private Esbat rituals, training, initiation, and rites of passage officiated by our ordained Elder Priestess. We have established, kid-friendly practices for the seasonal ritual celebrations, so don't worry if you're new or rusty! We're also welcoming to other practices and perspectives and prefer to share the running of rituals and activities among the group.

Friendship, playdates, and a community of support are also what pagan families need and what we would like to help provide and hopefully receive in return.

Our group will promote strict adherence to the Rede, environmental stewardship, healthy lifestyle choices, respect for others and ourselves, and the diligent pursuit of happiness.

Forming now for the 2012-13 school year!
(families with children only please)
