Four Quarters Interfaith Sanctuary

Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: Artemas, Pennsylvania
Key Contact: Four Quarters Office

Spiritual Path: All: Pagan, Wiccan, etc
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Open Circles... Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: Four Quarters is an InterFaith Sanctuary of Earth Religion. Children under 16 accompanied by parents or guardian are cherished and attend church sponsored events for free.

We offer this Church and this Land held in Sanctity and Safety to any and all who find the Ancient Ways of EarthReligion stirring in their hearts. Be you Wiccan, Native or Asatru; Santo, Buddhist or Druid; Craft, Strega or Christos; known by any name or by none.
As you honor the trust placed within you, on this Land you will find Sanctuary; If you cherish the diversity of others, from this Church you will find Respect; And in the sharing of your own Spirit with something larger than yourself; from these People you will find Community, Family and Home.

These are the gifts of Sacrifice, Ceremony and Celebration; and they await you, as Blessings of this Land upon You and Your House.

Membership in the Church at Four Quarters is not required in order to use the Sanctuary of Four Quarters as your own Spiritual Retreat. We do not want anyone to feel they must join any church. In fact, Membership in the Church grants no special benefits, only an increased sense of support and responsibility from its Members. Perhaps our Church Constitution says it best:

1.2.0 * We do not attempt to define the belief of the individual, knowing that belief is a deeply personal matter, a part of our ongoing journey together.

1.2.2 * We do recognize, support and incorporate into the body of our experience as a Church those practices and beliefs that we perceive are commonly shared and expressed among the many indigenous and modern traditions of EarthReligion.

1.2.4 * These practices and beliefs include, but are not limited to: the manifestation of Spirit as a gender duality and polarity; our honor of the Circle in its completeness and its directions; polytheism and monotheism as accessible and understandable expressions of the divine impulse; the wheel of the year as a means of understanding ourselves and our world; and the recognition of nature as the source and endpoint, image and reflection, of ourselves and our experience of Spirit.

Through Membership in Four Quarters Farm, our Sanctuary and Church Camp, we make the land and facilities available for the private use of our Church and Farm Members, guests, as well as public religious gatherings and Ceremony.

As a place for Handfastings and Weddings, Family Circles, Rites of Passage, or a simple weekend campout in solitude, our members find that Four Quarters has, perhaps, no equal.

The Standing Stones,
the heart of Four Quarters, are our great work and commitment in Spirit to the Seventh Generation to come. Our heart of Sanctuary and our Temple to Old Religion. The work, planning and sacrifice that the building of this Ceremonial Circle requires has become a process of transformation for all those who come close to its center.
We would welcome your visit to this very special place, and even more your joining us in its growth.

Full Moon and New Moon Services
are held every month throughout the year, led by The Couple in Service to the Circle. Our Church and Farm Members, and guests, take on the responsibility of creating and leading our ceremonials, usually taking as a theme some aspect of the seasonal Wheel of the Year.
Within our own Church Services, the traditions of Wicca are often our ceremonial lingua franca. We Cast Circle in a Sacred Way, Honor the Cardinal Quarters of the Circle, Invoke the Goddess, God and the Ancestors.
But our ritual practice is not rigid, and has a flavor that will seem familiar to people from many different traditions. Many Moon Service Weekends also incorporate Sweat Lodge and other more specialized ceremonials.

Our major events throughout the outdoors-friendly parts of the year bring many hundreds of attendees to our camp. They typically run 3 days on weekends, or for the large festivals, 4-5 days. These include:
Beltaine, Fires Rising, Spiral Scouts (kids) , Gaian Mind (Litha) , Drum & Splash, Stones Rising, Body Tribal, Sustainability, Embers, Samhain, and Yule.

Please see the website for full Land, Church, Camping, and Event details.
