Meeting minutes 09/8/08

Greetings:
Here are the minutes from our Meeting on Monday September 8, 2008

First Everyone introduced themselves. It was nice to see some new faces as well as some old ones.

We discussed the purpose of the group as a social organization. People of like mind discussing pertinent topics. We also act as a resource, if you need something, want a perspective on something or just plain need to know where you can buy new tools locally, just ask, someone is bound to know.

We discussed dues which are $5 per person, per semester. These dues go to our annual Beltane weekend as well as for printing materials, and other events as determined by the group.
We also discussed the upcoming events this semester. They are as follows:
Mabon-9/22/08 which is a Monday. We will hold our regularly scheduled meeting on this day with a special event during the day on Sunday 9/21/08. Planning on this even to occur at the next meeting.
Pagan Pride Day which is an annual event. This year it will be held on 10/18/08 at Boyce Park in Monroeville.
Samhain: 10/31/08- This is a Friday. A Special event will be tentatively held on 11/1/08 which is Saturday.
Yule: This will actually occur after the semester has ended so an event will be held tentatively in the last two weeks of the semester.

Soto has also for many years participated in the Interfaith Council. Meetings for IFC are held on the first Thursday of the month at 2:30 Pm. If anyone is available at this time and would like to be chair please contact spiritoftheoak@yahoo.com.

Meeting minutes for the IFC will be put on our Facebook, witchvox and yahoo groups.

We discussed the availability of locations to have gatherings. If you have an apartment or an idea please contact us via email or talk to Liz.

We also discussed transportation issues and learned we do not have too many cars in the group.

Finally we discussed topics to cover this semester. Such as:
Pagan History- Ancient vs. Modern
Stone Magic
Plants and Herbs
Divination
Energy Workshop
Paganism 101- This is more to keep us all on the same page and to see what we’re all familiar with, that will allow us not to waste time with future discussion reiterating basics. Other topic ideas are always welcome.

The next meeting is Monday September 15, 2008 at 8pm in Keith Hall. At this meeting we will discuss Mabon and plan that weekend's activity. If you are not able to attend please email us to sign up to join us so we can give you details. Also please let us know if you can provide transport for other group members, and how many you can fit in your vehicle.
