Die Urglaawisch Sippschaft vum Distelfink

Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: 19007, Pennsylvania
Key Contact: Robert Lusch

Spiritual Path: Urglaawe
Status: Established Group
Community Support: None Offered

Group Overview: We are Die Urglaawisch Sippschaft vum Distelfink, also known as the Distelfink Kindred. We are a legally incorporated church in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and are in the process of applying for tax exempt status.

Our path is that of Der Urglaawe, or the "primal faith, " the remnants of which survive in many Germanic tribal cultures. Our tribe is that of the Deitsch, or the Pennsylvania Germans, commonly called the Pennsylvania Dutch.

We have a long history in the Americas, and our early arrival here helped the heathen traces to survive and flourish in the safety of Pennsylvania, even with influences from other cultures. Our healing practice of Braucherei and magical practice of Hexerei carry much information, but our folklore, herbology, hex signs, and language carry even more.

We are thankful to Fraa Holle for bringing about the rebirth of our tribal awareness and for making the old gods and goddesses known to us.

Those who are interested in knowing more about us may contact us or join the Asatru and Urglaawe Meetup of Eastern Pennsylvania and NJ, which is a good resource for Heathen activities in the region.
