Group Overview: Introduction-
Pride Daitan is one of many Prides in the Awakened Nation. The Awakened Nation is a society of individuals on the path and who wish to clear that path for others. There are many names for the path: the enlightened path, the path to Nirvana, and many more. We believe that we all seek the same goal, though our personal paths may be different. People on the path are called ¡§Awakened¡¨. We believe that people of all faiths and the lack thereof can be Awakened and can learn from each other. Daitan means ¡§bold¡¨ in Japanese, for it is necessary to be bold in the search for knowledge. Pride Daitan seeks to bring the Awakened in Philadelphia together to learn from each other, contribute to the community, and educate people and youth about tolerance and as many religions and secular philosophies as possible. We have a specific focus on the Wiccan religion and hold Wiccan rituals in addition to our discussion meetings. Pride Daitan also is forming a Wiccan Children¡¦s School, like a Sunday school, to serve the children of Wiccan parents. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Mission
Pride Daitan is here to serve the community in whatever way is necessary. To do this we will reach out to Awakened members of the community from every possible path and together determine the needs of our community. Then we will implement charitable and educational projects to serve the community. We will also serve the community by learning from each other and bettering ourselves.
Goals
1) To gather the Awakened in Philadelphia and learn what needs they perceive.
2) To create a ¡§Sunday¡¨ school environment for the children of Wiccan parents.
3) To educate people about diverse beliefs both religious and secular and promote tolerance of all beliefs.
4) To create charitable and educational programs designed to alleviate the needs perceived.
