~~~About Our Coven~~~
The Coven of the Coral Salamander is located in West Reading, Pennsylvania and is an inner circle coven of the Culterian Tradition of Witchcraft. We offer classes in all of the arcane sciences, especially as they relate to witchcraft, spiritism, and divination.
Personal growth is a large part of our training and that training is performed in an individualized family atmosphere. We are currently accepting applications for membership!
~~~About our Training~~~
We are first and foremost, a family. Our focus is on personal growth and empowerment, and we work closely together to achieve those goals. Our teaching is very detailed and complete. The full training program can take up to 5 years to finish and a lifetime to master.
Much of the material is taught orally, passed from teacher to student in a very practical and hands-on manner with exercises designed to facilitate learning.
We seek to aid our community and do our best to help protect the environment. Service work is a part of our training program. We work very hard to make things better for everyone.
We offer a valid initiatory lineage and initiate students who complete the various levels of our training program, but those students work very hard to reach that milestone. Initiation is never given away to anyone, regardless of any prior titles, degrees, or lineages they might possess.
All aspects of witchcraft are taught, regardless of whether some may perceive them as being "dark" or "destructive". One of the main goals of our group is to help those in need; those who are being victimized by people of questionable moral character; and those who simply have no idea what the hell they are doing and wind up screwing themselves. It is our belief that the only way to counter the curses, spells, negativity, entities, and other "crud" that affect people is to have an intimate understanding of how those forces function and operate. Hopefully, our stringent selection process for new students, coupled with our emphasis on good moral character and priestly focus, as well as our strong leadership and guidance will enable our students to be responsible with the knowledge and power given to them.
Divination is one of the main focuses of our training. Proper divination techniques to determine, without error, the truth behind a situation are taught very early on and are employed every single time before we attempt any magickal working or activity, and then again after we are done. Divination! Divination! Divination!
We work with the dead. Ancestral reverence is one of the pivotal cornerstones of our Tradition. It is our belief that communication with the dead is crucial to psychic development as well as psychic defense. One must completely understand his or her spiritual frame and how to interact with it in order to be effective.
We do not accept anyone under the age of 18 unless their parent also joins, in which case children are very welcome!
~~~About Our Tradition~~~
The Culterian Tradition of Witchcraft is based upon the teachings of Lady Fran Culter, who was an herbalist, witch, and occultist of great renown in the Pacific Northwest, specifically Tacoma, Washington, where she ran a metaphysical book store called the Magickal Garden for well over 40 years.
She was instrumental in building a pagan community in Tacoma and was also a founding member and organizer of the O.T.O. in the Pacific Northwest.
Lady Fran embraced all forms of magick, from the most simple to the deeply complex. Marrying common herbal remedies with intricate ceremonial rituals she created her own eclectic form of Witchcraft.
Her pursuit of knowledge knew no bounds. In later years, she practiced Santeria and Palo, and incorporated those traditions into her own blend of practice.
She was brilliant; her mind a steel trap for esoteric and arcane knowledge, yet her heart was even more amazing. She gave of herself until there was no more to give and then still managed to find a way to give more.
Today the tradition is carried on by Lady Fran's granddaughter, Lady Shari James, and Lady Fran's longtime student and working partner, Karas Myr, as well as the many students of the Tradition.
