Group Overview: Coven of the Mystic Cat was established in Berwick, PA in June 2011 and is based on the Old Guard traditions and includes teachings from the New Forest of England.
We are a traditional coven and while we welcome new wisdom to aid us in growth and development of the higher self, we strive to maintain and adhere to the original practices. Our coven works on three degrees of initiation with ceremonies being held with the group. Each degree will mark a stage of advancement.
Initiation is a rite of the Gods fostered by a connection with the Divine. Your experience of initiation is a personal one, between you and the Gods, allowing you to bring about change and understanding.
Each coven member maintains a Book of Shadows, which contains the information and practices that came before us. You are encouraged to add new knowledge and understandings to your own personal book after you have recieved the rituals, spells and other information from your teacher.
We taken our coven family seriusly. We create a trusting and safe environment for our members to practice in. In addition we do have coven bylaws that explain our practice and intentions. All coven initiates are required to abide by these bylaws. All of our coven members are considered to be equal in authority, regardless of any previous degree initiations. We are all priests/ priestess of our tradition and we equally share in our participation of rituals. We strongly respect each others opinions and right to privacy within the coven and expect other coven members to do the same of each other.
We are an adult coven that carries on and teaches the traditions of the Old Guard and New Forest. In perfect love and perfect trust we gather to celebrate Sabbats and Esbats with our fellow coven members.
