WHAT WE DO:
--> As a group, we celebrate non-mainstream holidays (and/or mainstream holidays in non-mainstream ways) , practice ritual magic, carpool to relevant events and locations, exchange knowledge, and much more.
--> We hold a dinner social once a month at 4 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month. We've been trying a different restaurant each month, so message the facebook page for location details.
PURPOSE:
--> Basically, the point of the group is to foster camaraderie, personal growth, and extra power for our workings. Oh, and it's fun. :)
GROUP STRUCTURE:
--> The Order consists of an Inner Circle and an Outer Circle. The Outer Circle is welcome at all group functions except rituals. Members of the Inner Circle vote on structural issues and are permitted to organize group events.
--> We are not an initiatory organization, so we do not confer titles on members. Even members of the Inner Circle all have different beliefs, knowledge, and skill sets, so it makes no sense to have any one of us be named Grand Poo-Bah of all the others. Power-tripping is unwelcome.
--> We are designed to function as an umbrella group for all witches/pagans/occultists/shamans in Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Somerset, Bedford, and Fulton counties. Belonging to other organizations is not a bar to joining the Order. We have High Priests and Priestesses of other groups who are Order members.
--> We wish to foster a welcoming, safe atmosphere for all who join. For this reason we do not allow committed sexists, racists, or homophobes into the Order.
OUTER CIRCLE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
--> No one under age 18. Any path is permitted so long as you practice the occult in some form.
INNER CIRCLE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
--> No one under age 21. No Christians. Beyond that, any path is permitted so long as you practice the occult in some form.
--> Each new applicant must be approved by all current members, so if you want to join you have to get to know all of us first. We expect you to have considerable experience in the Craft; if you only dabble once in a while and/or have been at it for less than five years we would be happy to point you to other learning resources, but don't expect to be allowed into the Inner Circle yet.
--> People in the facebook group are not official members of the Inner Circle until they have actually participated in our events.
CONDUCT:
--> Show up as much as you can. Be honest. Have an open, inquiring mind. Treat the other members with respect. NO DRAMA.
--> Don't believe or spread gossip about other members; if you have an issue with someone in the group, ask them directly about it or deal with it in private. We will not all agree all of the time, and that's OK. What's not OK is being prejudiced against other members or trying to turn people against each other. Do not perform magic on other members without their permission. If consensus determines that you started major problems you will be kicked out, plain and simple.
