Group Overview: About This Group
Our purpose is to acknowledge the fact that sexism is a major problem in the wiccan/pagan population, and needs to be acknowledged and the problem dealt with. Below are several of the missions for this organization.
Many of our our missions include:
- To realize the high level of sexism in the pagan community, and most is aimed toward the members born of a particular gender. - To know that the members of the pagan community who are behaving sexist are behaving in the same lowercase level as the non-pagan sexist people of our society in general.
- To put in effort as a group and within the community to be cautious and aware of sexism within any of the activities involved in the pagan community, whether it be public events, rituals, meetings, social gatherings, classes, or other pagan activities, and for those who believe in complete gender equality and respect to make note of it and correct the issue.
- To understand the tiny amounts of effort it takes for one to not behave in a sexist manner toward the opposite gender, whether it be in the form of body language, eye movements, verbal statements, hand gestures, or actions (such as in ritual) intended to create sexist points. Again, the non-sexist mature pagans should observe and examine if there is any sexism present and to suppress it when needed.
- To acknowledge that the ones being sexist toward the opposite gender due to past bad experiences with that gender is treating that gender in the same manner as if a person of a particular race had done something wrong, then the victim treat all members of the race as if they are the same.
- To know that the members of the particular gender who shows complete appreciation, love, respect, and embracing of the opposite gender has shown to be the strongest, most secure, wisest, and mature of all.
- To acknowledge that both genders have different abilities, and these abilities should be honored and acknowledged with respect and appreciation. This does not indicate one is superior to another. Both genders are equal at the end, with the vast differences adding up to equality.
- To acknowledge that sexism needs to be decreased in a centered population that is cored around maturity, intelligence, wisdom, understanding, humbleness, appreciation, honor, love, and maturity. The members of the community who are being treated in a sexist manner often are the ones who fight for gender equality, and would have been much happier and learned a lot more in the pagan community if that person hadn't been treated in a sexist manner.
- To acknowledge that the Craft has no mature place for any political agenda promoting any gender oriented objectives, including feminism. Nor is the Craft or paganism in general a place for one gender to belittle another gender for entertainment purposes.
- To acknowledge the stereotypes in society as a means of social and personal control, and to ensure its suppression when seen. One stereotype example is the incorrect notion that to be seen as a strong individual of that gender, one must belittle or disrespect the members of the opposite gender. This stereotype is one of the many that is the opposite of maturity, love, and true strength, and needs to be suppressed. Any member of a gender who enjoys public belittlement or humiliation of the other gender is clearly showing a state of gender insecurity.
- To have the realization that the strongest, wisest, and most intelligent members of the Pagan community are those who are not sexist, or judge by what gender the individual happened to be born with.
- To acknowledge that appreciation of masculinity and femininity involves around love, maturity, intellect, and inner strength, inner security, and true strength, and any attempt of those who suppress others by their born gender is revealing the complete opposite of that.
- In order for the members of the pagan community to be happier, more united, warmer, loving, and more satisfying to its members, we need to appreciate, openly respect, love, and embrace the opposite genders of one another.
I would like to thank all of the men, and women, and covens who support this organization, and who believes that this group is highly needed in the Pagan community. I plan on giving future lectures on the subject, as well as upon permission sharing several experiences from Pagans who have experienced sexism or gender belittlement, as well as my own experiences. I know that I would have personally been much happier and learned a lot more if it wasn't for all the sexism present in the community. Again, I thank you for your support and awareness.
With much love and happiness,
L BWolf
