Gatherers of the Sacred Circle
Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: Sumter, South Carolina
Key Contact: Deanna Anderson
Spiritual Path: Eclectic Pagan
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Open Circles... Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: In April 2009 the group "Gaia's Wisdom" was created by Mike and Stephanie Venezia. In 2010 they moved out of state and the remaining members formed the hive-off group of "Gaia's Children." In 2012 the current members voted and changed the name to "Gatherers of the Sacred Circle."
Mission Statement: "To provide a place for pagans to come together in a family-friendly environemnt where they can lern, share, and grow in their own individual spirituality and spiritual path. We promote, encourage, and aid others in finding a path or in developiong their chosen path. We do our best to adhere to eco-friendliness and help the environment when and where we can and teach others to do the same.
Who We Are: a group of eclectic pagans each on their own spiritual path or request. We promote, encourage and help each other along those paths through learning, discussions, classes, workshops, and seasonal/traditional celebrations. We are open to Wiccans, Asatru, open-minded CHristians, Christo-pagans, Voodoo, Druid, Celtic or any other path of enlightenment or spirituality that a person may be vneturing on or exploring. As long as a person is open-minded and their path does not condone hurting animals or people then they may be considered for Gaia's Children.
What We Don't Do-- 1. No skyclad 2. No sexual acts 3. Under 21 not allowed to drink 4. No degree levels (but if you do have a degree level from another coven we acknowledge and honor that)
What We Do-- 1. Family friendly--10 and over can be considered members, otherwise all children are welcome whether they are pagan or regardless of age. 2. alcohol allowed for over 21 (but never in circle as we have non-drinkers) 3. get together for the Sabbats as seen on Wiccan Wheel of the Year but we honor other paths--we are not solely a Wiccan group. 4. At Sabbats spouses and children that are not members are welcome to attend. 5. We meet at member's houses for the time being but are looking at finding public places where we can meet.
Please contact me, Deanna Anderson at seakla@yahoo.com if interested. I am also on facebook, http://www.facebook.com/DeannaLynnAnderson. However, please let me know you saw this here and are interested in the group as I am selective on who I accept friend requests for.
We would also like to get together with other groups in South Carolina or be invited to events or do workshops at events or festivals.
I will respond to all emails usually within 24 hours. We are an active group and last met for Litha on 06-23-2012. We usually meet on weekends closest to a Sabbat. We accept new members pretty much anytime but twice a year will do formal anointings to acknowledge people as members.
