For now, we hope this page will serve as a marker at the edge of the grove for those seeking the path into OldeForest (whether just to say hello, or to learn the ways of these woods as part of our family) .
Located in the beautiful Scenic City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, OldeForest is both an initiatory tradition as well as a working coven. Founded in 2006 on four principles -- Love, Truth, Honor, and Service -- OldeForest draws from the teaching heritage of its High Priestess and Elders while furthering the Craft through active modern application of our oldest traditions and practices.
Sabbats are open to members and their families, as well as visitors by approval and with advance notice. Esbats are open to initiates and dedicants only. Classes are held twice each week (same class both times) . This allows students to choose the time that best suits their schedules from week to week as well as keeping our class numbers manageable. Classes, Esbats, and Sabbats are posted on the online coven calendar. The Schedule of Summons is issued quarterly with classes, Esbats, Sabbats, and other events detailed (including class topic and venue changes) .
OldeForest is led by its High Priestess and Elders. It is an initiatory tradition conferring three degrees: Order Of The Stone (1st) , Order Of The Sigil (2nd) , and Order Of The Star (3rd) . Within our elevations and rituals -- from Dedication to 3rd Degree -- a unique tradition of Mysteries unfolds. Not all who come to OldeForest to study seek initiation, however, those that do will find a comprehensive training program with deep roots in traditional Wicca, wise-Craft, and Ceremonial Magick.
Students are encouraged to walk their path and are given the tools to discover their own power and purpose in the Great Work. The paths of those within OldeForest are varied and many, as unique as the individuals that gather here, however, our core principles and dedication to the Craft of the Wise and its rich heritage bind us gently yet strongly together into a truly powerful magickal family.
Entry in OldeForest requires pre-entry questionnaires, meeting, and discussion with group leaders. We prefer for those interested in OldeForest to attend at least one of our Sabbats before petitioning (joining anything before you know what you're getting into is rarely a wise idea!) . Formal study begins with OldeForest's dedication ritual and a year and a day of participation is required before petitioners are brought formally into the Outer Court (known as the Kith) . Once membership is official, initiations are conferred as the student is ready.
The heart of OldeForest's teaching, training, and mysteries revolves around the four paths of Love, Truth, Honor, and Service.
