Group Overview: White Oak Kindred in Nashville, TN is a modern expression of the faith and virtues of our northern ancestors. We are polytheist and honor the Aesir and Vanir as They were known throughout the Nordic and Germanic lands. We also honor the spirits of nature and the land, and strive to maintain mutually beneficial relationships with the those land spirits. Finally, we pay respect and honor to the ancestors who have come before us, remembering them in our rites and prayers, and honoring them by living our own lives to the fullest. We are committed to the principle that the Gods welcome all who would honor them, and we believe that the lore and folkways of our ancestors can guide us to inspiration and innovation in our worship.
The mission of White Oak Kindred is to create and promote a vibrant, active, and growing Asatru Community in Middle Tennessee area. We accomplish this mission by:
1) Fostering a strong core of committed and enthusiastic Asatruar in the form of White Oak Kindred,
2) Promoting awareness of the Asatru faith by means of public educational opportunities, public rites, and building ties within the local community, and,
3) Forging bonds with larger local, regional and national heathen and Neopagan communities.
