Group Overview: Circle of the Moon was formed in 1988. This is the mother coven of the American Tradition of the Goddess. Raven is the high priestess of Circle of the Moon and the matriarch of this tradition. AmTrad is a teaching tradition of earth magic. Our emphasis is on living the craft through thought, word, and actions. We honor the triple Goddess and the triple God and the eight sabbats. We see all pantheons as valid and work with all Goddesses and Gods. We believe in forming a base of knowledge by exploring the ancient myths and legends of the Goddess. This is done through teachings and ritual. We have a three degree system. As a first degree you are considered a witch who is someone who walks the path. At a second degree you are either a priestess or a priest and you become a teacher of the path. At a third degree you are either a high priestess or a high priest, at this point you are the path. This tradition is matriarchal. We are a currently a member of the Covenant of the Goddess and I, Raven, carry the credentials of a minister.
As of 2005 I retired, but I am still very active in the community and with my coven. Circle of the Moon no longer accepts students, but is still running strong.
