Group Overview: Just as the river contains many streams and many currents, so too does the path we walk contain many other trails and avenues. Each of these is a part of our Life. To walk a spiritual or magical path is to be aware, to be conscious and to be responsible for our actions. We do not walk our path in a vacuum. The mental, the physical and the spiritual are all woven into one tapestry, one tale, one path, one river, one Life.
The first steps within our tradition are on the path of personal responsibility. We are the guardians and caretakers of our own lives and destinies, and students are guided toward taking control of their lives. With personal responsibility and self-awareness come the inner strength and the confidence necessary to face the challenges of all aspects of Life, whether they be of the mind, the body or the spirit. And indeed, strength is needed for those challenges, for Life is not easy.
Students need to establish the necessary life experience and skill-sets to move in a positive way through our modern world. When our house is in order, then we can look to the Mysteries with the strength and confidence necessary to experience them and to learn from them.
Skywise is a Druid Grove founded in Salt Lake City, Utah. We practice a tradition that is true to the beliefs of our Celtic ancestors, as well as progressive and valid in our modern culture. Movement and change are the vibrant energies of Life. We learn from and connect with the past, but we also embrace the now and the future.
We utilize many tools on our path, including the Ogham, the Druid’s Ladder, journeywork, guising and divination, as well as the experience and knowledge of everyone within the Grove. We gather together on the days of power in the Wheel of the Year to work toward our goals – the goals of the Wheel, the goals of the Grove, and the goals of each of us as individuals.
Respect is our guiding force – respect for clan, respect for others in the Pagan community and respect for the world community in which we participate.
Skywise accepts investigators for our student program, as well as more experienced practitioners interested in exploring the Druid path. We are open to investigators from Imbolc to Midsummer.
Nighttree, the founder of the tradition, has been a practicing Druid for over 20 years.
