Group Overview: The Heterodox path of Wicca is a new and exciting branch of that beautiful path set forth by those before us. In the midst of the staunch religious judgments and persecutions of Utah, I seek to form an all inclusive and inviting coven for all ages and backgrounds.
In the past 20 years or so Wicca has gone mainstream, yet at a terrible price; solitary practitioners and others have diluted the religion so much that almost anything is accepted. Though acceptance isn’t a bad thing, the true form and beauty of Wicca and the beliefs of old need to be preserved and standardized so that future generations may look back and draw from the knowledge passed down to them.
Also from my journeys and studies I have found that there is great power in numbers. Many energies and spirits can be brought up within the sacred circle. Even though many do not see this, it is very evident in LDS temples and Catholic sanctuaries. With the proper training and knowledge a coven can come together and perform very powerful magic for the benefit of its members and the world in general. There seems to be a general lack of this bond amongst the pagan community here in Utah.
So, this is a general call to all solitary witches out there in the Ogden, Utah area. If you have been looking for a place to call your home, the First Heterodox Coven of Utah welcomes you! If you are a first time practitioner or if you have been practicing for years, we value what you can contribute. If you are still unsure and want to learn more we will offer classes on Wicca, and the Heterodox path.
