Group Overview: Blue Star Wicca is a hierarchical Wiccan tradition founded in the mid-1970's. As a tradition, our focus is on the Gods, and personal transformation by living a magickal life - as opposed to focusing on 'spellwork'.
Our path is one of joyful worship, incorporating seasonal themes and activities in our Sabbat & Lunar celebrations and daily lives. Teaching is an important part of our path - and we encourage ritual experience and personal growth and transformation through service to the Gods.
Good food is very important to us. A potluck feast is an integral part of all our coven meetings, and we cook and share traditional foods at Sabbat celebrations.

Oaktavia Kinstead was originally formed in October of 1992; and with the Hiving & Ordination of it's HPS in 2003 - became a fully autonomous coven within the Blue Star Tradition. We meet at our home to celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year through the eight Wiccan Sabbats, as well as both New and Full Moons. We are very traditional and tradition-minded (or more simply put: our ‘style’ is far more structured than eclectic) . Though we are predominantly an adult group, we are very family-orientated, and our members' children, spouses, and even extended family are welcome in our circles. In Oaktavia Kinstead, children are respected as valuable members of our coven and thus our rituals are not 'broken down' for their participation. We understand and welcome diverse lifestyles & family structures.
We have been an established group for over 10 years; with the relocation of our core to Norfolk Virginia, we spent some time re-organizing & rebuilding. Now our VA core group is growing slowly and steadily - though our out-of-state members still travel to attend classes & circles as often as possible.
We are looking for intelligent, grounded, friendly folks - who are interested in worshiping & learning with us - and who are willing to make a solid commitment to attend scheduled events.
We strive to maintain a group that allows for a great degree of safety and trust – thus all interested inquiries will receive an invitation to our next open ritual or class *after* an in-person meeting.
