Group Overview: We welcome you to CUUPS of BRUU! And all those letters stand for "Covenant of Unitarian Universalist PaganS of Bull Run Unitarian Universalist"...and it's much easier to say "CUUPS of BRUU"!
We are an open and eclectic group of Pagans who have discovered that Unitarian Universalist congregations actually welcome us into their services. If you aren't familiar with them, check out www.uua.org and click on the link about the Principles and Purposes. The main one that should catch your attention is the one about "free and responsible search for spiritual truths"...that means that they think everyone should decide for themselves what to believe in. So they are very open to Pagans...and Jews, and Atheists and Moslems and Agnostics and you get the picture.
UU is the closest to organized religion as you can get and still have the freedom to decide on your own path. It is "space" for Pagans who often don't have any place to meet; it can be called "church" for those who are still in the broom closet while wanting a spiritual home but need to explain where they go on Sunday mornings to Christian family or friends. It can provide a touch of familiarity (from abandoned Christian practices) while giving a place to expand and grow in current beliefs.
We invite you to join us any Sunday for the regular UU service or just on the first Sunday of each month for the CUUPS ritual service. Please check out our webpage on the www.bruu.org website (CUUPS/Pagan is the title of the link) . You can email us for more information as well.
