Group Overview: HI! The East Carolina University Pagan Student Organization is an open group to all students at ECU, grad and undergrad. We are NOT a worship group... although we encourage members to experience paganism through action, we mainly focus on informing the population here in Greenville and by helping to create a community and safe environment for pagan students.
We were formed in the Fall of 2006 by an eclectic pagan named Star. She brought the group together, and while she is no longer president, she most definitely is a strong influence.
The group has been a part of on campus projects (Post Secret Mural, Speed Dating, Diversity Week, etc) and annually makes a trip to the renaissance faire in Raleigh.
We have semi-annual dues of (currently) $5 which certifies you as a member and allows you to vote and come on trips with the group. Although you do not NEED to follow an earth based or pagan religion in order to join, the majority of members are, and in the two years we have been active any member that joined that was NOT pagan did one of two things... left or remained and were positive and interested.
The group is currently small, only about 7 active members, but about 15 in-active members. We have a president, the contact above, and a vice president as well.
SO... if you go to ECU and you would like to meet some like-minded individuals or just get to know some darn cool people feel free to stop in and learn more about us. We have some GREAT events planned for the fall and spring... and we'd love to get some more input to make a better group for the upcoming years.
