Group Overview: We are a teaching coven, following Traditional/eclectic practices, in which we strive to guide our students as they travel on thier own unique spiritual paths. We emphasize individuality and the power of experiencing the sacredness of Our Earth Mother by following the Wheel of the Year through the 8 sabbats, as well as esbats celebrating the phases of the Moon. We are a diverse group and we share spiritual beliefs that are similar but not identical, allowing each of us to express their own spirituality, thus leaving room for each individual's spiritual growth and evolution, at their own pace. We believe that by sharing our indiviual spiritual growth, the Circle's collective spirituality grows as well.
In addition to our 30+ years of teaching experience, we have a huge coven library, which includes film as well as books, enhancing our students' learning experience.
We have been conducting legal handfastings/ weddings since 1993. We also conduct Wiccanings, Cronings/Sagings and Initiations (1st, 2nd and 3rd Degrees after appropriate training and time) , as well as Crossing Over and Memorial Services. We perform Healing Circles for physical/mental/spiritual well-being.
Circle of Light does not teach or include children under the age of 18 without parental consent.
Our only "fees" are contributions of food and/or drink to share at the potluck Feasts that take place after each Circle. We do not imbibe alcohol or illegal substances during Circle. What people do in the privacy of their own homes, outside of Sacred Space is their own business and not subject to our approval.
Circle of Light's periodical The Heathen Herald was published and mailed to subscribers free of charge for 7 years. We recently began publishing an online version of The Heathen Herald on the website http://members.cox.net/heathen_herald/Home.html. It is still a work in progress however.
Our rituals are celebrated outdoors (weather permitting) in our own Sacred Grove of trees, with which we have been blessed by Our Lady and Our Lord.
