My name is Mary Katherine Hawk and I am looking to form a group of practicing and dedicated women (preferably not too far in age) to begin what will eventually become a closed coven, council, and sisterhood. Many covens that I have found today are made to be simply for a group of people getting together for a ritual or to listen to someone teach a magickal craft. I believe though, that a coven should be a truly dedicated FAMILY. One which the group finds comfort and strength in and has each others backs. One where minds convene to draw on each others daily wisdom and experiences and one where learning and discovery of creation around us a powerful and moving experience shared equally among all members. To better understand where I'm going with this, allow me to draw the picture of where I find this vision. You see, though I call myself a Witch (not Wiccan) , my experiences and world view are better understand as that of a Shaman. My path has been carved from the many years of attending Native American pow wows and associating myself with a more indigenous ways of life. Over the last few years of dedicating myself to study and practice of varying crafts, I have found an incredibly deep love and respect for MANY traditional and cultural paths and feel that in our day and age that there being a community to be a part of in your path is becoming more and more important.
My vision for this group is to be one where women come together as more than just members, but close friends and even sisters; where we share in each others lives and share in a similar world-view. My hope is that the group might even eventually form it's own kind of traditional drawn on from the hearts and minds of it's members.
To begin the group, I will be forming a private Facebook page to simply meet others and invite possible members which will be a part of the coven. As time goes on and people become better familiar with each other, we will begin to meet in person and better form our relationships and bond.
