Women Of The Goddess Circle

Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Seattle, Washington
Key Contact: Janice Van Cleve

Spiritual Path: Dianic Wiccan
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Open Circles... Teaching Available

Group Overview: We are a feminist Pagan community of women in the Dianic tradition of Wicca serving Wiccan women for over 21 years. We mark the eight Sabbats of the year in ritual with like-minded women. We welcome all women over 18 years old of good intent who sincerely subscribe to our purpose. Please see our website for more information at www.wotg.doodlekit.com.

We welcome newcomers! We encourage them to attend a ritual planning meeting before being invited to a ritual. This is so you get to meet us in a casual setting and see if we are the people you would like to do magic with. And we get to meet you for the same reason. It also underscores for all of us that we create our rituals ourselves, from our needs of the moment and with the help of our ritual framework and seasonal traditions. All present freely engage in the planning.

We welcome solitaries! While group participation achieves magical energy that is not possible in a solitary ritual, we recognize the power and value of solitary practice. We all have our own solitary practices too, after all, and our daily prayers and weekly personal devotions greatly enhance our ritual experience.

Our rituals are very participatory - and a lot of fun. We encourage our women to take active roles in ritual as their skills grow. One of our purposes is to develop our members as priestesses. We do not have a high priestess nor do we have hierarchies, although we do recognize those of greater experience, and we elect three facilitators each year to handle mundane matters like membership, treasury, and outreach.

We try to have rituals outdoors whenever possible in parks or back yards, but the weather here in Seattle often forces us indoors. Wherever we go, we create some really powerful, meaningful, and relevant rituals. Give us a call! Check out our website at www.wotg.doodlekit.com.
