Group Overview: What is a coven but a gathering? A gathering of like minded people for "work" or play. It's not much different than a prayer group. Some days you meet for serious prayer, maybe share a Communion rite, and finish with coffee and donuts. Other days you have a potluck and play scrabble.
It is about fellowship and mutual support. The problems of one are the problems of all. The magic circle focusing all its power on one thing. This is the cone of power. This is how you get results. All for one and one for all. Bickering, abuse, parasitism and power games break the circle.
Membership comes and goes. That's called life.
When the coven reaches critical mass (What can comfortably fit into a living room.) , it splits into another hive. This is how we spread, by mitosis. Of course we all get together once in a while for a big shebang. This is called a Grand Sabbat.
Kids are welcome to potlucks, but like any prayer group it is better to have them playing in another room during "work" time.
Whether you are a newbie or an oldie, if you want to empower yourself, and take responsibility for your own spiritual and material life (don't all religions pray for material help?) , without the tyranny of priests, or priestesses, then this coven is for you.
This is a traditional coven, the spells/prayers are old but simple and universal. We are a working coven. We do not preach, and your personal religion will remain that way.
But be aware, our morals are Pre-Christian, and Pagan, We do not have any qualms about "praying" for the destruction of someone who is harming one of our own. "the enemy of my friend is also my enemy." This is loyalty. We are unafraid of the oppressive priestly invention called Karma. Here the Threefold law is in its true form, "Return good for good, and evil for evil threefold."
There are no degrees, all are equal. The circle is not a pyramid.
There are no secrets, all knowledge is given freely, you have but to ask. Our only secret, is that we all guard the identity of our fellow coveners.
We meet when it is convenient or needed.
All who are sincere and honest are welcome.
Oh, we wear clothes.
P.S. We will never incorporate or license, firstly because the government has no business in our faith save protecting our right to practice it, and secondly, anyone who profits by selling spirituality, or who seeks to dominate others by setting themselves up as intermediary between gods and men is an enemy of mankind. We are each our own priest and priestess and no approval of any man or government is needed.
