Group Overview: * We are the Coven of the Shadow Labyrinth, a Wiccan coven that practices it’s own Wiccan tradition based off the original Thirteen Principles of Belief created by the American Council of Witches (created in the 1970's) . We have suited our tradition to the needs of our coven, evolving as needed to continue to serve the needs of the coven. We practice our craft on Full Moon and New Moon Esbats and the 8 Sabbats of the year.
* We are non-hierarchical in our practice, which means that all members are considered equal in authority and position regardless of past experiences or past degrees and initiations achieved in other traditions. We are all priests and priestess of our tradition, and we equally share the responsibilities of the coven, including the preparation of rituals. Our rituals are of Wiccan structure.
* We are a teaching coven, with an initiate program to familiarize potential new members with Wicca (past and present) and our Wiccan tradition (present and future) . The program continues for 9 months – 1 year, in which time initiates will learn our craft and participate in our private rituals.
* We take our practice very seriously, and wish to do everything within our power to create a trusting and safe environment for all of our members to practice Wicca together. We have by-laws to protect our coven, as well as to explain our practices and intentions, so that members and interested parties can understand who we are and what we are doing. All coven members and initiates are required to sign the by-laws making an oath to abide by the by-laws, as well as sign a liability waiver in order to participate in coven activities.
* We are a semi-private coven, meaning that the majority of our practice will be conducted in complete privacy with only our coven members and initiates in attendance. There will be approximately 6 rituals per year that will be held in semi-private or public-but-secluded locations with people outside of the coven by invitation only.
* We are a co-ed coven, accepting both male and female members. All members are 18 or older.
* We do not discriminate based on race, gender, color, sexual orientation or political association.
***UPDATE 1/18/13*** We have now closed our doors to new members and will be focusing on our private practice until November 2013 when we once again open up to potential new members.
