Group Overview: The CWPA was formed to unite the Pagan population of Central Wisconsin -be they Solitary, Circle, Family, Coven, Kindred, or Grove- in order to create a public presence within our larger local Community.
Therein lies the focus of this group: the larger Community of Central Wisconsin, our place within it, and what we can do as a collective group to benefit our Community and others in need. This group also serves to be a common ground for the local Pagan population, a place to gather for discussion of relevant matters to us as Pagans, to network, and share information on local events, organizations, and resources.
It is our hope that through our positive interactions within the larger Community that we may, in turn, present a more accurate depiction of who Pagans really are to those who may not otherwise be familiar with Paganism.
Participation is free and open to adults and minors (with parent permission and supervision.) The group is loosely organized and run through communal consensus: everyone has a voice and a say in group operations. Though the CWPA is a religious organization it is not a Church; and though it may offer opportunities for learning and growth it is not specifically a teaching/training forum.
All Pagan paths, Traditions, and experience levels welcome; all that is required is a sincere interest to gather with others, in mutual respect, to honor the connection we all share through active participation within our larger Community.
The CWPA meets the first Thursday of every month for discussion and event planning at the Portage County Public Library located in Stevens Point. Please see our website for more information, as well as a link to our yahoo group that we use for general communication and meeting updates.
