Group Overview: The Star Paths group is a new form of circle begun as an outgrowth of a television series Ron HS Schaefer (author, composer, filmmaker, and founder of SWMultimedia) created for Public Access. In the series we explored a plethora of ideas of magic and mysticism. The group was formed in 2011 to expand on those ideas by utilizing, meditation, journeying, spirit communication, healing, divination and the other things covered in the programs.
While Star Paths has a Wiccan core to it, its basic premise springs from the changeover Earth's energy underwent beginning in 1987 and carried over through 2012. Since Earth's magnetism has shifted, so has the human race -- witness the political and social upheavals during the period, as well as the climate shift. This has meant the veil between the worlds is thinner and easier to access than in the past (as the spirits tell us) rendering certain types of practices unnecessary and opening up the other planes to more people and opportunity. Star Paths is therefore a pathway concentrating more on the future than the past.
Beginning in the fall of 2012, SP takes on a stronger focus along Bardic lines since its fostering comes from an arts and arts-in-education organization. While we will be employing some traditional Bardic techniques as well as continuing the work begun in 2011, our emphasis will be in expanding the boundaries of ourselves through all the arts: visual and performance based. This includes more modern forms like filmmaking and television, and computer graphics, as well as the ancient forms.
While an inner circle may be allowed to develop, the standard meeting (and therefore outer circle) is open to the general public. Anybody wishing to come and explore may do so. We will be holding our meetings every Tuesday evening, but will move from location to location. As Star Paths is associated with an organization that deals with the arts, SWM may open itself up to find jobs for the professional artist. But keep in mind, this is not Star Paths function. It may only be an extra benefit.
