Academic research request.
I am currently undertaking research on the practices of witches and pagans in the Southern Hemisphere, with focus on the practical application of the observances of the Wheel of the Year in Australia.
I am looking for witches, practicing either as a solitary or within a coven environment (with coven's permission) and pagans in general, to submit in writing any rituals or rites that have been performed for seasonal festivals; any rites of passage that are intrinsically Australian; and any other personal aspects of being a Southern Hemispheric witch or pagan that you consider differ from our Northern counterparts.
Submissions could include the highlights of rituals performed; any negative aspects, and how you may feel that being an active pagan and/or witch in the Southern Hemisphere, and in particular Australia, impacts upon these practices.
Essays could be clearly written in an easy to understand format, and contain as much relevant information as possible. Once the submitted texts have been examined, i will be conducting interviews with interested parties to help gain an even greater understanding of our practices, and to achieve a more personal touch to the results.
Your submissions will be treated with confidence, and anonymity will be respected if requested.
Submissions close on the 31/12/09.
