Asatru/Heathen Classic Back in Print

Proclaimed by: Dr. Beowulf
Proclaimed from: Conway, Arkansas

The Troth, an international organization for the promotion of Asatru and other forms of Heathenry, is pleased to announce that Volume I (History and Lore) of OUR TROTH is back in print.

OUR TROTH is the classic text for modern heathens, including extensive information on our history, lore and practice. First published in 1993 and immediately hailed as the definitive introduction to Heathenry, the original edition has long been out of print and almost impossible to find.

For the second edition, the original material has been updated and expanded by a team of top heathen writers led by Kveldulf Gundarsson, Diana L. Paxson and Ben Waggoner. Drawing on both the latest academic research and extensive personal insight and reflection, OUR TROTH remains the single most comprehensive book ever published on Heathenry; all who have heard the call of the old ways of the Northlands will enjoy and benefit from this book.

Volume I describes the evolution of Heathenry from its earliest roots to the present day. It reviews both the ancient lore of our gods and goddesses and today’s ways of knowing and honoring them, and also includes chapters on Heathen theology, cosmology, and ethics. The trade paperback packs 584 pages of information and illustrations between sturdy full-color covers, at a cover price of $25.99. The hardcover edition, in an archival-quality cloth binding with a handsome dust jacket, retails for $38.95.

Volume II (Living the Troth) , a guide to rites, holy days, and living out Heathenry in all aspects of life, is scheduled to appear in October 2006.

OUR TROTH Volume 1 may be ordered in paperback from or, or from the publisher at (paperback) (hardcover)
