LIKE TO DANCE? FREE CLASSES, GET PAID, & MAKE A DIFFERENCE (MEN ESPECIALLY NEEDED) !
The Gypsy Folk Dance Ensemble, a friendly, very social, & *very* diverse international folk dance performance company, is inviting creative pagan folks (*ESPECIALLY MEN*) to learn folk dances & get paid to dance with our troupe: To perform with us you come to our Sat. afternoon rehearsal ( usually 3:30 to 7pm) as often as you are able till you learn the dances & ready to peform. Though at some times of the year we will train complete beginners, right now we are only inviting folks who are familiar with some kind of dancing so that you'll learn the dance styles & choreographies we're doing at a reasonably good pace ( You do not need to know the styles of dance that you will perform with us, we will teach you) .
Dancing with us is a very social experience & many of our performances are for Retirement Communities & Senior Centers where they so appreciate us coming in & bringing festive energy & attention to them. We also perform different cultural dances for social gatherings of diverse people in the community. We do Cajun, Country Western, Greek, Polynesian ( Hawaiian/Tahitian/Maori) , Waltz, Polka, Contra Dance, Hungarian, Roumanian, Scandinavian, Italian, Mexican, Irish, Scandinavian, etc...
We have many gigs & need lots of women & men. We have gigs 7 days a week, often many times a day, you'll be able to perform in many of them if you are interested. We rehearse in Culver City & perform all over Southern CA.
