Sharon Knight Plays StrowlerCon in Boston, MA
San Francisco Bay-Area-based singer/songwriter and touring musician Sharon Knight performs Celtic-inspired songs of myth and magic with her long-time collaborator Winter at the Woburn Holiday Inn (just north of Boston) on Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10, as part of StrowlerCon.
Sharon & Winter have been heard on over 300 radio stations, played in a wide range of venues from grand to modest, enjoyed "top 10 status" on MP3 and NAR charts, and have captured the attention of major and independent labels alike. Their music has been featured in two independed films, "Beatific Vision" and "The Commune, " and they are the founding members of the gothic tribal folk metal band, Pandemonaeon.
StrowlerCon is a performer-produced, three night, two-day event in the main ballrooms of Woburn Holiday Inn, 15 Middlesex Canal Park Dr, Woburn, MA 01801 (north of Boston) on Columbus Day Weekend, October 8th-10th 2010. More local than New York ComicCon and more focused than HONKFest, StrowlerCon is an intimate event for lovers of music and circus arts and geek culture.
Expect three nights of live music concerts with circus arts, burlesque dancing, and theatrical fun in between, set in a fandom-convention-style event with daytime workshops, panels and a Maker Showcase (ie. better than an art show, featuring inventive creations and physical artworks of all sorts.) Performers include Sharon Knight, Alexander James Adams, SJ Tucker/Skinny White Chick, Heather Dale, Gypsy Nomads, Catherynne M. Valente’s Palimpsest / Orphan’s Tales Road Show, Tricky Pixie, Vagabond Vaudeville, and Kellianna.
Weekend passes are $45.
General admission daily tickets for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are only $25.
