Sharon Knight and her longtime collaborator Winter are nationally touring musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area performing acoustic, “Celtic-inspired songs for poets, adventurers, and lovers of mystery.” Their penchant for combining fierce and gutsy bravado with ethereal beauty, a hearty dose of fantastical lyrics, and an obvious love of storytelling, has inspired their own style, “Neofolk Romantique.”
They often sound less Celtic and more like “folktales that ran away with the faeries at the turn of the century and took cover in an old trunk bound for the circus, which was then commandeered by pirates.” This suits them fine.
Sharon and Winter have shared stages with S.J. Tucker, Tricky Pixie, Alexander James Adams, Heather Dale, and many others.
Since opening in 2001, The Mississippi Pizza Pub has become known as a staple of the local Portland music scene with some of the best pie in town to boot. With the addition of an elegant martini bar known as the Atlantis Lounge in 2004, “The Mississippi” firmly established itself as the premier destination on what is now a thriving six-block entertainment and dining corridor on historic Mississippi Avenue.
