Beagle needs family farm

Proclaimed by: Zahra Fajr
Proclaimed from: Manitou Springs, Colorado

Proclamation...

We have a beagle named Casey Mango, and yes she is sort of shaped like a mango. She is very beautiful, inside and out (well, the 'inside' is metaphorical. I don't know if her organs are beautiful, as I've never seen them, lol) . She lives with my father right now, but she is in a dog run during day and a small homemade garage room during night. She gets a walk around the block whenever we can, but it's not enough. She gets to spend time with my doggie, Sugar, but I'll be moving in with my mother full-time with her and so Casey Mango will no longer have a companion. Dad says he'll get her another dog if I can't find her a farm within a month.

The reason I think she needs a farm is ... I just can't see her being happy (even with a companion) in a dog run outside away from people. She gets separation anxiety and she loves attention. She also loves to wander and follow her nose, bask in the sun, etc. If she could be free to roam on a farm with farm animals and a lovely family, she would be SO happy. However, one of Dad's restrictions is that the farm must have another dog that she gets along with. HE can't se her being happy without a dog friend.

Some things that make her so lovable: She loves to talk with you (conversing, but sometimes she interrupts you. She says 'uh huh' a lot when asked questions) and she enjoys singing, too. She gets playful and she has a big 'buddha belly' that just begs to be scratched. Sometimes she looks like a spotted pig or a cow/dog because of the spots on her belly. She groans in pleasure when you massage her ears.

Some things that need care: She IS overweight, though she's losing since we did some energy work on her. As a result of her weight (about 35 lbs for a small beagle) , her hips hurt her sometimes and she limps. She can't walk for a very long time or run up a bunch of stairs or jump up on high couches or she'll start hurting. Also, she has a hernia on her belly that needs watched. If it gets much bigger or if it gets hard, she'll need to be checked out by the vet.

So if anyone close to Colorado Springs lives on a family farm with a dog, and you want a sweet beagle, let us know! If you take her, we'll even teach you the song that was written for her. When you sing it, she'll often sing along or get all shy and sweet.
