Summer soaps and Sale! June 12-19

With the arrival of June, we at Sacred Suds want to celebrate the hot, lazy days of summer with you. So we're having a Summer Sale - right now! With summer fast approaching, we are also excited to introduce two new cool, refreshing soaps to our collection. The first is our soothing Green Tea bar inspired by Kuan Yin, Buddhist Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. Being inspired by a goddess of compassion, this is a very gentle bar of soap, made primarily with olive oil and scented with a soothing, cooling green tea and cucumber fragrance. It is also made with a special green tea called Tie Guan Yin (Kuan Yin Tea) from China. According to legend, there was once a poor tea farmer who had begun tending a dilapidated temple to Kuan Yin. He passed the temple every day on the way to his tea fields, and though he was too poor to repair the temple, he did sweep it and light incense as an offering to Kuan Yin. After several months of his dedication to the temple, Kuan Yin appeared to him in a dream. She told him that in a cave behind the temple, he would find a treasure. The next day he visited the cave and found a single tea plant. He took cuttings and shared the tea with others who also began cultivating it. The tea came to be called "Tie Guan Yin" (Kuan Yin tea) , and this is the tea that is in this bar of Kuan Yin soap.
Our second new soap is our brisk, refreshing Prana (Breath of Life) mint bar. The inspiration for the Prana bar came during yoga class. During the final relaxation portion of class, while we're lying down, sinking blissfully into the floor, our instructor rubs her hands with peppermint essential oil before doing slight adjustments to our faces and necks. The brisk peppermint oil is wonderfully rejuvenating, like an arctic breeze that opens up our airways, brings clarity, and energizes us. It opens us to breathe, inviting Prana, Sanskrit term for "life force" or "breath of life", to enter our bodies. The feeling is so fantastic that we wanted to recreate it in a soap. The Prana soap is brightly scented with peppermint and spearmint, fresh, crisp (and cooling!) scents that encourage users, yoga and non-yoga alike, to open their airways, breathe, and be filled with the energy of life. This is a great morning soap for waking you up and energizing you for a happy, sunny day ahead .
