Oak Trail Books Celebrates 14 Years

Proclaimed by: Oak Trail Books
Proclaimed from: Palm Harbor, Florida

Proclamation...

Palm Harbor, FL – The Witch’s Brew, a coffee & ice cream shoppe in Historic Downtown Palm Harbor, is celebrating 2 years in business along with Oak Trail Books, a 14-year-old metaphysical book & gift shop, on the Summer Solstice weekend June 19th – 21st, 2009.
The Saturday night celebration is themed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” inviting revelers to don wings and dress like fairies. A fairy facepainter will be decorating guests for a fee.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, with the regularly scheduled Open Mic/Jam Nite from 8 pm to 11 pm where local musicians share their original songs and musical talents.

All weekend long, customers will enjoy 14% off all purchases at Oak Trail Books, may sign up for drawings for prizes like a wine basket from Murielle Wines, and can sample wine & ice cream at The Witch’s Brew. Customers can sign get send a free card at a Send Out Cards demonstration from 1 - 5 pm.

The party continues Saturday night with The Witch’s Brew’s House Band, “The Defendants”, who will be performing classic rock & blues from 7:30 pm to 11 pm.

On Sunday, June 21st, there will be a free Wyrd Tarot Meetup group (sign up on http://tarot.meetup.com/360/) from 1 – 3 pm and a Summer Solstice Ceremony on Sunday, June 21st from 7 – 8 pm.

The Witch’s Brew, a magickally-themed café offering locally roasted coffee, all-natural locally-made ice cream, and spirits (beer & wine) opened June 5th, 2007. The founders, Lesley Klein and Denise Karnes, conjured up this unique eclectic coffeehouse themed after Witchy paraphernalia. A “Wall of Best Witches” features famous film and TV witches like Samantha from Bewitched and Harry Potter. “Witchy” gifts like Kitchen Witches, Witch’s Brew Candles, Spell Writing Pens, Brooms, and Ruby Slippers, are for sale. As you approach The Witch’s Brew, you see a pair of witch’s legs with ruby slippers sticking out from under the house and a yellow brick road leads you up the steps into a beautifully decorated shoppe. Denise Karnes is the artist who painted the décor in the café. Floating witch hats hover over your head as you see a painted sign read: “Toto, You’re not in Kansas Anymore.” A painted cauldron in a fireplace bubbles over.

The menu categories in The Witch’s Brew “Book of Shadows” include: BREWS (coffees & teas) , POTIONS (smoothies, juices & soups) , EATS (salads, “sandwitches” & wraps) , TREATS (ice cream garnished with witch hats & other desserts) and SPIRITS (beer & wine) .

The mission statement of The Witch’s Brew is: To provide a welcoming place where patrons can nourish their bodies with wholesome foods & beverages prepared with good intentions and feed their spirits in a positive energy space where like-minded, upbeat people love to hang out. Our slogan is: The Witch’s Brew… Causing Quite a Stir!
