Iowa Pagan Census Update

The Iowa Pagan Census is now in its third month and it has already returned some interesting preliminary results.
From the Pagans who have submitted census forms so far, there have already been ten different political parties represented, not including those who selected none or other. While there are many possible explanations for this which shall be addressed in the final census report, it seems clear that Pagans in Iowa are a politically diverse group. Although the majority of Iowa Pagans seem to be part of left-leaning parties, they vary quite a bit and there are exceptions.
Additionally, female Pagans in Iowa have thus far appeared to outnumber male Pagans 2 to 1. The many explanations for this may include the presence of goddess-centered religions, more opportunities for female clergy, or differences in access to the census.
The number of census forms submitted should begin increasing rapidly as paper forms are distributed at various festivals throughout the state this spring, summer, and fall. The shorter URL for the website should also increase the ease at which one can tell a friend about the census. The goal is to get a sample of no less than 500 Iowa Pagans, which seems to be a reasonable goal, with help from the community.
