SFWC donates to local charities

SIOUX CITY, IA --- Siouxland First Wiccan Congregation today made two delivery stops for donations to local charities. Rev. Jeva Singh-Anand presented donations of items collected during SFWC's Beltane and Summer Solstice celebrations to representatives from Girls Inc. of Sioux City and the Boys Club of Sioux City.
Clothes, beauty items, and personal items were delivered to Girls Inc.
"Donating to Girls Inc. is very gratifying, " Sister Betsy Singh-Anand of SFWC said. "Especially after the response we received from them last year."
Last August the items SFWC collected for Girls Inc. were used in a back to school action. For some of the girls, these were the only new clothes they had received that year, a Girls Inc. representative said.
According to SFWC's Community Action Coordinator and Vice President Pro Tem, Jacki Saeemodare, Girls Inc. has placed the church's fax number on its computer and will receive automated request list shortly before every Beltane.
Girls Inc. is a national organization dedicated to helping young girls build self-esteem through life and academic skills.
Rev. Singh-Anand delivered a quantity of toys, computer disks, board games, and art supplies the Boys Club of Sioux City. This is the second year in a row SFWC has targeted this organization which serves boys from 7 to 18 years old.
