Tsunami

Proclaimed by: Reverend Gardner
Proclaimed from: Clay City, Indiana

Proclamation...

On Sunday December 26th, 2004 by the Gregorian calendar, the Earth moved. And undersea earthquake, which was so powerful that it affected the Earth’s rotation created a tsunami 30 feet high traveling around 500-600 miles per hour that slammed into 11 countries and nations causing an immediate death-toll of over 69, 000 human beings, at last count, and as I write this the death toll continues to rise dramatically.
This was a terrible catastrophe, which ironically happened during a time when millions of people were involved in a multi-faith effort to raise the spiritual consciousness of humankind in an effort to dispel the violence war and hate. Replacing those negative feelings with Love and compassion. Our hearts go out to all of those who are grieving for loved ones lost in the wake of this disaster and our prayers go out on behalf of those who have died. May their deaths be not in vain, may through their sacrifice, countries, nations, governments and individuals find compassion in their hearts for the terrible loss of life and the anguish of the survivors.
Everyone upon the Earth has been touched in some way by these tragic events. We are all affected by this tragic page in history. Many of us cannot lend those needy folks a hand, but we would all like to contribute something. We would all like to do something to help and perhaps insure that this does not happen again. So for those of us who can do nothing else, I suggest that you pray in your respective traditions that something positive and beautiful will come of this tragedy. That people from all walks of life and all over the world will come together in bonds of compassion and love for their fellow humankind, and realize that what affects one affects all.
May this terrible happening, open all of our hearts, and may we all find a way to cast out hate and envy and jealousy and prejudice and all of those destructive emotions and habits that serve no purpose but to divide us, and may we all find a way to unite in love and sisterhood, and brotherhood, and know that we are all, no matter the face, color creed or religious path brothers and sisters of one big family. And may our governments stop killing our fellows and lend aid to the needy. So Mote it Be.
