DEPRESSED?? Non-Pharmaceutical Study Searching for Participants Suffering from Depressive Mood Disorders! Participate in an IU School of Medicine study to see if an energy-based technique similar to Reiki improves your quality of life. There is a 50% chance of receiving 8 FREE Reiki-like sessions, 25% chance of receiving 8 free prayer sessions, 25% chance of receiving nothing beyond what your medical provider or therapist is currently providing. This program is open to all spiritual paths. Participants must be > 18 years old and currently receiving medication or counseling for a depressive mood disorder. We are conducting a randomized trial of an energy modality similar to Reiki to determine its influence on quality of life in those diagnosed with depression. We are searching for people willing to volunteer 2-4 hours each month to provide a comparison treatment involving prayer. All positive prayer paths to the divine are welcome including Christian, new age, and others. Experience is not necessary, and training will be provided.
