Children Conjure Spirits This Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts
Salem, MA -- July 21, 2004 -- Not since 1692 have kids had this much fun in Salem. On October 30, 2004, the Witches of Salem will teach America's children to make friends with ghosts at Ms. Firefly's School of Spirit Conjuration! Salem's own Ms. Firefly claims that spirit contact comes easy to children because they have not yet learned to ignore their "imaginary" friends. She will guide these eager young minds to understanding that spirits are not dangerous forces but rather helpful playmates! Ms. Firefly's School of Spirit Conjuration is part of Salem's Festival of the Dead, an annual October event series that celebrates death's macabre customs, heretical histories, and strange rituals. Ms. Firefly says that the real world of spirits can help children to find the hidden magical truths woven into such popular fantasy books as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, and that working with the world of spirits fosters creativity, individuality, and freedom of expression. With the help of spirits, she says, children are able to conquer fears, make friends, banish nightmares, and discover the hidden wonders of the invisible world.
The children will be taught how to open themselves up to the forces of spirit using sound triggers, visual prompts, and hypnotic suggestions in a safe, healthy, and fun manner. Once infused with spirit, they will be taught how to channel the talents and abilities of their friends on the other side for the good of all, harming none.
