Help Wanted: Pagan Music Internships

Would you love to work in music, but are afraid you'll never get a foot in the door or make money?
We have an open door, and free training to show you how it's done, available right now for the right candidates! Gra is Stor, an independent record label that has recently moved from Boston to Santa Cruz, is seeking interns to support music by Caera, an award-winning Gaelic singer and local Celtic harper/singer/songwriter who performs historical, traditional, and original songs in English, Irish Gaelic, and other languages. Caera released three new albums in 2006, in addition to her first two CD's which came out on Gra is Stor in 2004.
These internships are a great way to gain valuable experience and hands-on education in a job that also offers flexibility, independence, and personal appreciation. Instead of "normal" jobs that stifle your creativity, here you will be rewarded for it! While learning how to sustain a career in music, you will begin making your own contacts in the industry right now. In this particular case, you will also have the opportunity to learn some Irish Gaelic and possibly other Celtic languages for free [special note for Witchvox: you could also learn about Celtic history, religion/spirituality, and other things Caera can teach, for free]. If you are in school now, we are willing to work with your school to get you academic credit for your internship. There is potential for growth within the company to paid positions in the future.
There are different sets of duties for different internships. The first accepted applicants get first choice in what they would like to pursue. There are internships available in booking gigs (general and specific to a tour this spring) , radio outreach and promotion (including internet broadcasts) , outreach and distribution to retail outlets, updating web sites, email response and organization, and reaching out to press outlets, among other duties.
Ideal candidates will have organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to multi-task when necessary. You must have the diligence to follow through and see your work to an end, and not stop in the middle or after you've done the preliminary steps to get the ball rolling. You will need about 10 - 20 hours per week to devote to this work. You will also need reliable internet access. While we are willing to teach and are definitely looking for a willingness to learn, some previous knowledge of Celtic and folk music, music promotion on the internet, or other aspects of the job would likely gain favorable placement.
