Pagan Academy seeks Teachers/Columnists

We believe that home-based education presents an opportunity for Pagans and the Pagan-curious to learn about magick, practice an Earth-based religion, and enhance their spirituality. People who may have no local religious community may communicate with teachers, mentors and fellow seekers in the privacy and safety of their home.
For these reasons, we are seeking authors, clergy persons, teachers and Pagan leaders for a unique magickal service, which teaches Paganism, Wicca, Druidry, Heathenism, Earth-based religions, Shamanism, witchcraft and subjects related to the practice of magick and nature spirituality.
Our school, Pagan Academy, is different from any other witchcraft school. In order to attract the highest quality materials, we provide residual payments to our teachers. We will license chosen written material, with the author retaining copyright, offering an initial payment of $25.00 per year for a period of five years. Teachers earn residual income of at least $2.00 and up to $18.00 from every student taking their class.
Various levels of education will be available to apprentices (beginners) , journeymen and adepts. Specialized courses are being tailored for children, young adults, people with alternative lifestyles, elders, and people making the transition from mainstream religions. A variety of classes will be appropriate for every age and life situation. Students who successfully pass a course will be awarded a certificate of completion. We want our students to receive the very best education for their time and money.
Teachers will receive a greater rate of payment for varying levels of involvement in Pagan Academy. An instructor’s level of participation is strictly voluntary… you may wish to write a single course, or provide a televised demonstration, or even interact with students online. You might wish to offer a series of classes, base a subject on your book or tradition, or offer your services as a teacher through conferences. Your earnings will be based on an initial payment and ongoing residuals, depending on the time you invest.
Pagan Academy will base many of our courses on the works of authors, leaders and clergy. We may request that students purchase specific books or materials for their learning experiences. This presents another opportunity for authors to earn an income much greater than the royalties offered by most publishers. Students will thereby be offered the chance to gain an education from their favorite writers.
Because dedications, initiations, degrees in Wicca and ordinations are a personal matter between the seeker and his or her teacher or spiritual advisor, we will not offer these services. Instead we will provide a solid education, with links to Pagan clergy who may choose to offer religious initiations or degrees.
Online classes – The online courses will be composed of written classes and tests. Each instructor will offer a course featuring a number of classes with multiple-choice, true-or-false and matching questions to test students’ comprehension. Written lessons might be based on subjects such as ritual tools, spells, traditions, history, ethics, herbal knowledge, energy working, creative visualization and many other areas of study. Teachers may choose to merely write a class and license it to the Academy for a period of time, collecting residuals for each student. DVDs and/or CDs of course work may also be offered to students, providing another opportunity for teachers to earn an income.
For teachers who wish to provide a greater level of involvement:
Virtual classes – Our media department will film classes or demonstrations of magical techniques, featuring real students. Instructors will teach their subject during the course of the film, and Pagan Academy students can watch the DVD online. DVDs may be purchased in our online store, offering another opportunity for teachers to earn an income. The DVDs’ subject matter may also include meditation, ritual, magickal cooking, dance, music, divination, chants… the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Each film will be professionally recorded and edited to ensure quality.
Interactive classes – Teachers can interact with students in various ways: through e-mail, online chats, and teleconferencing. These courses will be held at the instructors’ convenience. Appropriate hardware and software will be required. Teachers will be paid a residual for each student using these services.
Mentoring – Authors and leaders who wish to help students but do not wish to create a course of study may consider mentoring. This will include online chats, e-mail and conferencing, with mentors instructing or tutoring students in various subjects. A small stipend may be paid for this service, or a banner ad provided on our website.
Festivals, gatherings and conventions may provide Pagan Academy with opportunities for our teachers to have their demonstrations, workshops, lectures and classes taped for DVD production, or teachers may wish to use the facilities within our physical storefront, Three Sisters Shop, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Columnists are needed to write articles for our online newsletter. (Materials will be licensed for a specific time period. A one-time payment will be made, or a banner ad will be furnished. Authors will retain copyright to their own work.)
Our media branch, Magickal Media, will film events, rituals, interviews, demonstrations and discussions. Pagan authors, clergy and leaders who do not have the time to teach a course may wish to appear on our unique web cast. Payment will not be offered for this service, as you will be given an opportunity to promote traditions, causes, projects or other subjects of interest. This is also a fantastic way to inform non-Pagans about Earth-based religions.
