Sanctuary Lands Nearing Reality!

Southwest Missouri -- The COLIGNY, June, 2005 by Brijdrix T. A. dePrytani, Editor in Chief of the COLIGNY, Headmaster L'Academie Ynys Wyth, The Keeper of the Flame and The Keeper of the Portal of The Temple of the Thicket. After a somewhat short search on behalf of our tradition, Blue Star Paganism -- Prytani-Witta, i.e. Arcadian Sion , it does seem that some very appropriate lands are in sight for The Temple of the Thicket of Southwest Missouri and L'Academie Ynys Wyth.
Naturaly those who practice Earth based spirituality steward land as their primary places of worship and the Prytani wing of the Blue Star are no different. However, we are seeking an appropriate dwelling to house the primary campus of L'Academie Ynys Wyth.
Once Sanctuary Lands are obtained, a primary facility for our Academy is secured, then we can seguay directly into creation of a Land Trust under the auspices of The Temple of the Thicket. At that time we can then secure acredidation for the Academy which includes academic programming from grades K though Baccalaureate Degree. Our Land Trust will allow us to obtain additional lands to steward on behalf of our projects.
It is looking quite good on the home-front regarding securing lands to steward for these various projects. We did not act quickly enough to secure Piedlow Holler and Piedlow Cavern which sold after a bitter bidding war that was fifty wonderful acres on a Creek too for $200, 000. We are now looking at two very promising properties about two hours East of Springfield (great locations to St. Louis, Memphis, and Springfield, Missouri, too) which are even more spectacular than Peidlow however are not owned by family members as Peidlow was and another property in Wright County, Missouri, presently owned by family members.
We still work with old, antiquated equipment (ask about donating items on our Wish List perhaps?) , but we are a very frugal group -- if something works, we believe, don't fix it. Recycle, reuse, and renew!
It seems that many are skeptical still about what exactly we are doing or at least awaiting the few of us who are doing all this to complete the goals before making their own personal commitments. We have all been at that point in our own lives, but we would encourage anyone with ability, insight, wisdom, energy, and experience of any type to consider making that choice soon. Positions are begining to fill up.
We will not leave anyone out or behind before, during, or even after setting our various structures. There is always room for more individuals here with us while we grow and change and with recognition of individual pace (we are acting slowly too for the fact that we honour a commitment to full handicap accessability as well) -- these are our promises and our commitments to you.
L'Academie Ynys Wyth, The COLIGNY, The Temple of The Thicket, and Sanctuary Lands (yet to be named) are all about YOU, belong to YOU -- and, YOU make the difference.
UPDATE: In Southwest Missouri, as elsewhere, we are beginning to see signs of a leveling of the playing field regarding real estate property. It does seem more possible than ever before to finally afford a piece of Ozarks Heaven of our very own. However, we wish to thank our Land Trust alliances who are proceeding and being inclusive!
