Camping Available Year Round- Ozark Aval

Proclaimed by: Ozark Avalon - A WitchVox Sponsor
Proclaimed from: Columbia, Missouri

Proclamation...

Pagan Campground off I-70 between Kansas City and St. Louis

Camping and Retreats
Ozark Avalon Church of Nature and Campground
26213 Cumberland Church Road – Boonville MO. 65233

Ozark Avalon is a legally recognized Wiccan church and nature preserve located three miles off I-70 at exit 111 between Kansas City and St. Louis near Columbia. We open our land to all persons of good intent as a place to play, meditate and enjoy nature. Our mission is to provide access to nature, a safe place for outdoor worship in an earth-centered, earth honoring spiritual context, to promote community among persons with these beliefs and practices and to further environmentalism and appreciation for nature spirits and the earth. We are on the bluffs of the Missouri river on 160 acres and beautiful woods and meadows.

There are hiking trails, established camping areas, a small swimming pool and a scenic 3 acre spring fed lake with canoes and fishing. Some of the campsites are drive up- others, including lakeside camping requires a hike in.

We are open year around for family or indivudual camping, private camp outs as well as festivals, open circles and classes. Camping is available during most times-but you may call or check our website for closed or adult only weekends. We charge $10 a person or $20 a car- which every is less -so carpool if you can. There are opportunities for privacy that are unlike most public campgrounds. You can reserve a large, private space for your group whether it is 20 or 500. Prices per person are less for larger groups. Small RVs are permitted but there are no hook-ups. Our artistic solar assisted Frog Bog shower house with indoor compost toilets, shower stalls and an outdoor deck has hot running water and solar lighting.

Directions: Take I-70 to exit 111 Between Boonville and Columbia- Go South on Highway 179 approximately 2 miles Turn left onto Cumberland Church- the gravel road opposite paved Route V. Go 1.5 miles to a sharp right turn. Go another 1/4 mile to mailboxes and the Ozark Avalon sign- take the main driveway up to the top of the hill. You will see the retreat center- a large white framhouse. Registration is on the porch. Call 660-882-6418 or 573-289-3657 if you have ofn eed further assistance.

See our website at www.ozarkavalon.net, e-mail ozarkavalon@hughes.net or call 573-289-3657 or 660-882-6418 for information, more directions and a complete schedule. You may camp at any time except for adult only scheduled events. Children are welcome at all other times and there is no charge for children under 18 with parents. There is also a remote adult only area with clothing optional open at all times. Reservations are not required and drop in camping is welcome subject to the schedule.

Camping Fees and Arrangements

We ask for $20 per car a night or $10 per person to camp to encourage folks to carpool. We also have bunkroom style sleeping space inside our rustic farm house retreat center. A bed space is $15 per night per adult or $25 to reserve an entire room. This includes kitchen and bathroom use.
Work exchange may be available for part of the fees- call ahead if you need this or just want to help.

There are also groups camps that can be reserved for your private gathering. Costs are negotiated based on number and area but are generally much less than private individual rates. We can also host meetings and provide food for your group, as elaborate or simple as you would like. Bring this notice in for a free day with two day stay.
