Wanted: A male officiant for a pseudo-pagan wedding ceremony. Ordainment not necessarily needed. Really need someone who can read aloud well and who is willing to perform the ceremony without being open about religious affiliation. Please help!
Weddings are supposed to be difficult, but this is getting depressing.
I am getting married next June 19th and I desperately need to find a male officiant for my wedding. My parents are very conservative Christians so they won’t accept a woman (unfortunately) . We tried to go for their minister, but the elders at the church got on his case about doing a pagan’s wedding. They have thus far not provided a decent officiant so I’m calling out to my brothers and sisters in the pagan community.
The ceremony has pagan undertones, but I’ve had to make it more neutral to keep the peace. It is a beautiful ceremony nonetheless.
My parents know that I am pagan but would rather not have someone pagan do the ceremony, hence the need for silence as far as religious affiliation. I would prefer someone in the Raleigh, Greenville, or Washington area.
I prefer to do a one-on-one interview with a short reading if possible. I am willing to meet someone outside of my home (perhaps for lunch?) .
The wedding is a Renaissance/Medieval wedding taking place near Washington, NC so travel arrangements would need to be made.
