Protect Wilderness and Sacred Lands

I was reading the Wren’s Nest article on ancient villages, http://www.witchvox.com/wren/wn_detail.html?id=10275
and remembered an article about companies being allowed to lease wilderness areas, like the Book Cliff area.
The Sierra Club site has an article about the Book Cliffs. It is worth taking the time to read, and consider what this means to the same ancient villages in the article posted.
In New Mexico, roads threaten sacred artifacts. Along our southern border, tourists are allowed to deface and desecrate sacred sites. We are losing ancient sites, sacred lands and wilderness areas to ‘progress’. Roads, logging, mining and the search for gas and oil, are taking their toll on the land.
President Bush would allow corporations access to wilderness areas, and sacred lands, formerly protected from intrusion by business concerns. We must take a stand now, before it is too late, before national treasures and sacred sites are gone forever. It is time to make our voices heard, by writing, emailing, and faxing our representatives and congressmen. Environmental sites have action pages, where you can do this on their sites. We need to raise energy to protect our planet, educate ourselves about what is being done in our country, and vote.
This is our world, the Earth is our home, the home of our ancestors, and of our future generations. It is for us to save the wilderness, protect sacred lands, and ensure that future generations are able to enjoy Her.
Take a few minutes, look at the sites listed below, and learn what is happening. Take a stand, and let your voice be heard.
