Proclamation...
To my fellow Pagans, my name is Jessica Lane. I am presently incarcerated in New Jersey's only women's correctional facility, Edna Mahan Correctional Facility. NJDOC has recognized ODINISM as a religion, and is currently being practiced within the Men's facilities. I began the process of getting Wicca and Paganism to be recognized as well. I am Norse Pagan and have practiced Wicca ways for many years before my incarceration. I received an approval January 3, 2012 for Wicca and Paganism to be recognized. Pagan literature can now be received and kept on person with the exception of Runes. Our Sabbats have also been approved but cannot move forward without an outside volunteer to conduct ritual. Full moon rituals have not yet been approved but we remain persistent. I am reaching out to the Pagan Community for positive thoughts and energies to come our way. The Pagan women of this institution feel that in dark times such as these that spirtual enlightenment is necessary. Pagan rights have come along way through unity.
