Scott Helland tours US in June 2006

Proclaimed by: Frenchy and the Punk
Proclaimed from: New Paltz, New York

Proclamation... New York Neo Medieval Acoustic Rock Instrumentalist Scott Helland and the Traveling Band of Gypsy Nomads Tour US in June 2006.
The release of the brand new CD, Catapult, out on May 30th 2006 is the focus of Scott Helland’s US tour which kicks off on June 1st in Cleveland, OH. Two of the songs from the new CD, ‘Tall Tales From The Tavern’ and ‘Monarch Of The Glen’ can be heard on Scott’s Myspace Music page at http://www.myspace.com/scotthelland and the CD can be purchased through the website at http://www.scotthelland.com. Scott starts the tour after a busy Spring performance schedule which saw him sharing festival stages with Candice Night of Blackmore's Night, Clann An Drumma/Albannach and Voltaire.
Join Scott Helland and the Traveling Band of Gypsy Nomads with guest percussionist for a unique live performance of all original songs mixing medieval, celtic and rock styles. The live show is an awesome blend of live acoustic guitars and pre-recorded tape looped rhythms, which has become his signature live show sound. This performance style allows Scott to recreate songs from his CDs the way they were intended, and he does it with passion and dramatic flair. Inspired by the bombastic live shows of the punk and metal bands he grew up playing bass in, his lush acoustic guitar melodies are often delivered with the driving force of a rock bass line. His fun and energetic stage presence is like an acoustic Angus Young, as he never quite stops moving and bobbing with the music. Helland’s songs aren't extended instrumental virtuosic ramblings, but rather catchy, tightly knit songs that, with their visually inducing melodic lines, will have you playing them in your head for hours.
Scott is thrilled to be one of the featured performers at this year’s International New Age Trade Show in Denver on June 23 and 24. The tour will also see Scott returning to Bangor, MI for the Paganstock Music Fest June 3rd and 4th and the St. Louis Pagan Picnic festival June 10th and 11th, as well as numerous cafes and metaphysical stores. Scott returns to the East Coast in July for more summer dates and will be performing at several PPD festivals in the fall.
For bookings contact scott@scotthelland.com. Visit www.scotthelland.com for performance dates, photos, audio clips and ordering any of Scott’s 7 CD releases as well as earlier works with other bands. CDs are also available at www.cdbaby.com and at local pagan shops across the country.
