The Gypsy Nomads 2009 Samhain Tour

Proclaimed by: Frenchy and the Punk
Proclaimed from: New Paltz, New York

New York’s The Gypsy Nomads Duo
October Samhain Tour 2009

On the road again! One of the most beloved and hardest working bands in the underground mystical circuit today, The Gypsy Nomads, will be hitting the road for their 4th US tour this year, that's right...4 tours in one year! Many readers may know them from their performances at Pagan Pride Day events at which they have played every year since 2000 as well as some of North America's most popular festivals including Heartland, Spoutwood, Spirits of the Earth, and Brushwood's Sirius Rising. Their national tours are also peppered with performances at many metaphysical/pagan/new age stores across the US including Mystickal Voyage (MD) , Next Millennium (NE) , Witches Brew (CO) , Aquarius Books (KS) , Witchy Wearables (IL) , The Magic Candle (IN) and Heart of the Dragon (CO) , to name a few. They've been featured in New Witch (now known as Witches & Pagans Magazine) and Faerie Magazine.

It's looking like the Nomads might surpass their 2008 tour stats of 100 shows across the US in 25 states! A few fun facts from the past year; their music was used in a gothic wedding cake show on the popular WE TV series Wedding Cake Show and a song was also used in an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show!

The Gypsy Nomads, also known as 'Frenchy and the Punk' (singer Samantha Stephenson was born in France and sings in French as well as English, and guitarist Scott Helland was the bass player in two legendary eighties punk bands) , have 3 CDs out including the current "At The Carnival Eclectique" disc. They are currently working on their next release slated for a January 2010 release. Helland has another 7 solo CDs which were released prior to the formation of TGN.

The Nomads' live show is a wildly entertaining mix of original French and English songs, their trademark pounding tribal march drum instrumentals and cheeky gypsy celtic cabaret tunes. "Their show is high octane, magickal, and a must see." It's a lively and animated tribute to the free spirit lifestyle and their flair for the theatrical makes them hypnotic to watch. (*of note for the pagan/metaphysical community, their drum instrumental "Ghost Drum" on the CD "At The Carnival Eclectique" is a popular track for ritual)

The 2009 October tour will take them through 11 states performing at a range of clubs, cafes and stores. The tour finishes up in Massachusetts at Salem's Festival of the Dead/Witches Ball w/ Dragon Ritual Drummers on the 30th and in Pennsylvania on the 31st at the Spoutwood Masquerade Ball at the historic Strand Theatre in York, PA.
