Need a place to stay? We have a room! We're a family of Pagans, so religious beliefs/practices would be completely respected here (whether you're a Pagan of some type or not!) .
I have a unique opportunity available for the right person.
We have a large house in the North of Youngstown, Ohio, and we currently have a quite big bedroom available. To start off, anyone who applies must be an animal lover. I don't mean someone who just kind of thinks animals are "cool", but someone who can handle being around them all the time. We run a rescue and most animals who end up here are in very bad shape. We rehabilitate them, but it takes time and some of them can be a real challenge. If you get very upset over fur on your clothing, please move on to the next ad! If you don't like being cuddled almost constantly by purring, furry friends or having a big (and I mean big) dog head flopped in your lap, please do not reply. Dog slobber happens here every day. Cat hairballs do, too. It's an adventure, but I promise you that they make it worth the while in pure love.
Ok, now we have that out of the way...
It is myself (a woman) , my husband and my two teenage daughters. My husband works, so he's not here most of the time and he also spends the rest of his time on the computer. So, really, it'd be me and my girls that a potential roomie would be dealing with. We're very relaxed people and we're very close. My girls are the best! I have some serious health issues, so sometimes I am very ill and unable to do much. I am, however, heading back to work soon, at least part-time. (Hence the need for someone to help out) . We don't care what anyone else's faith is and will respect it utterly, we just ask the same in return and no conversion attempts. Please no drama! We can turn on the TV and watch soaps if we feel the need of any!
Duties would include (but can change depending upon what is needed at the time) : general housework (both the everyday type and the heavier "spring cleaning" type) , some cooking (can teach you if you don't know how) , helping to care for the animals (again, will teach the right person) , helping out with various home improvement projects, housesitting when we are away and just being around. If I land the job I have applied for, I will just need someone to be around if I'm working the night shift (swing shift is required at the job) . My daughters are old enough to be self-sufficient, but I don't like leaving them alone at night.
I'm not a person who likes a lot of people coming and going, so someone who likes to throw parties or have a lot of guests stopping in would probably not work out well. Aside from my own misgivings, the dogs get antsy with a lot of traffic and our rescue cats can be easily spooked. I don't mind the occasional friend or if you have a regular boy/girl friend that could be dealt with.
I did post here before, but things got crazy (long story) . If you applied before and I lost touch with you, feel free to apply again! We are open to people of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, etc. I will be doing a background check, though, because of my daughters.
Here's how it will work: when we find the right person, we will discuss how many hours of labor per week would be expected to pay the equivalent of the market value of the room and utilities. The roommate will be expected to pay for his or her own groceries, personal supplies and transportation. We would sit down in advance of someone moving in and make sure we all understood the expectations of each other.
Supplied in the cost of the room are the following: The room, obviously, electric (includes heat) , water/sewer/trash, wireless internet, use of laundry facilities and telephone.
If you are new to Paganism and would like a chance to experience life in a Pagan family or would like the chance to study with someone, I am a Priestess of nearly 22 years and have a fairly extensive library which would be available to anyone living here. This could be a great opportunity for someone!
