Cats Need Food Donations

Hi everyone
The Cat Food Bank is doing really well getting cat food and litter into the hands of cat owners who are struggling right now. We are keeping cats in the home with the families who love them. (www.catadoptionteam.org)
The last 3 months have been stupendous in the amount of food distributed – over 700 pounds each month. To date, 4499.9 pounds have been given out in 8 short months.
The food bank feeds an average of 69 cats every month.
The pantry is extremely bare after the January distribution. If the amount of food given out in February equals what was given in January, we simply will not have enough.
CAT is looking for donations of unopened, unexpired cat/kitten food (dry and canned) and scoopable litter. We need more cat food than kitten food right now. The food bank is completely reliant on donations from the public. CAT does not take food out of shelter stock to fill the food bank pantry.
Quick Facts about the Cat Food Bank:
* Cat and kitten food only; some cat litter is available as well
* Distributed to cat owners in need of financial assistance
* Approximately one month’s supply of cat food given for up to four cats
* Open the first Sunday of the month from 12 – 2:30 pm
* No transportation provided to CAT’s Sherwood shelter
* CAT’s Sherwood shelter address 14175 SW Galbreath Dr., Sherwood, OR (call 503-925-8903)
* Donations of unopened, unexpired cat/kitten food (dry and canned) and scoopable/clumping litter are welcome
* Available to any cat owner in financial need regardless of what county they reside
* At this time CAT’s Cat Food Bank is designed to help cat owners, not feral cat caregivers or rescue organizations.
