Volunteer for Nashville Pagan Pride Day

Proclaimed by: Castiel
Proclaimed from: Nashville, Tennessee

Proclamation... This year's Nashville Pagan Pride Day is on Saturday, September 13, 2008 a the First Unitarian Universalist Church. http://www.geocities.com/nashvilleppdweb/ As you may have heard, the Planning Committee for Nashville PPD 2008 has committed itself to revitalizing and expanding this year's PPD. The theme for this year's PPD is 'Come out, come out, wherever you are!' and we hope that we can encourage more local Pagans than ever to come and participate in what we hope will be a forum for truly appreciating all of our similarities and differences. We set a goal for ourselves to provide more for our community--more vendors, more classes, more resources, more chances to connect with our fellow Pagans in ritual space. For the first time ever, we are bringing in a Keynote Speaker to Nashville PPD--popular Pagan author Ellen Dugan. We will also be featuring the multi-talented Shadowdancer, who will be giving a musical performance as well as teaching a class and selling his books. This year's PPD will feature rituals both for the whole community and just for children, as well as face painting, crafts, a kids' drum circle, and other fun activities designed to cater to Pagan families, not just adults. And, of course, the tride and true schedule of classes, taught by talented members of our local community, will be in place this year to continue to offer Nashville Pagans opportunities for learning and growth. We have so many elements we want to include, I don't even know that I can fit them all in one e-mail! Musical entertainment, a parade, photo-ops, a raffle... But to make all this happen, we need your help! The Planning Committee is looking for ten volunteers to step up and commit to helping out at PPD 2008. Each volunteer would only have to commit to one 5-hour shift--either from 8:30-1:30, or 1:30-6:30. Volunteer duties will include helping some with set-up and take-down, acting as heralds for upcoming events, participating in the Parade to the Opening Ritual, manning the kids' craft area, helping with food sales, assisting vendors, manning the information booth, passing out response sheets, and generally directing the masses. Every volunteer will receive a free Nashville Pagan Pride Day 2008 t-shirt, which you can order in your size ahead of time. And, of course, you will go down in history as the kind of Pagan who lends a hand, gets involved in the local community, and makes a difference. If you would like to volunteer, please e-mail me (Castiel) at kangarue_@hotmail.com, and let me know which shift you'd like to work and what size t-shirt you need. If you don't think you can volunteer, but know someone who LOVES that kind of thing, by all means, pass this message along! It takes all of us to make the Nashville Pagan Community great! Let's make this year's Pagan Pride Day an example of how diverse, amazing, and enthusiastic we can be together. Come out, come out, wherever you are! Blessings to all, Castiel
